The United Kingdom made the decision in 2016 to exit the European Union. Following the negotiation/transition period, the customs implication on movement of goods between the UK and other European Union (EU) member states becomes effective on the 1^st of January 2021. While this may not affect some businesses, a vast number of companies will be impacted as customs checks accompanied by appropriate paperwork become requirements for movement of goods across UK/EU boarders.
